Enel Green Power connected to the network two new photovoltaic plants

Mining areas in northern Chile continue installing photovoltaic parks

The solar PV plants, located in the Antofagasta and Atacama regions, with a total installed capacity of 136 MW, registered a total investment of about US $ 240 million.

Enel Green Power connected to the network two new photovoltaic plants in Chile, Lalackama and Chañares, and launched the last 4 MW at the Diego de Almagro park.

Lalackama with 60 MW of installed capacity, is the largest photovoltaic plant of Enel Green Power, and is able to generate up to 160 GWh per year, equivalent to the consumption needs of 90,000 Chilean families, thus avoiding the emission the atmosphere of more than 100,000 tons of CO2. For the construction of the park was required an investment of about US $ 110 million.

The PV plant Chañares, bordering the solar park Diego de Almagro, with a capacity of about 40 MW is able to generate up to 94 GWh per year, equivalent to the consumption needs of about 53,000 Chilean families, thus avoiding the emission more than 59,000 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere. The total investment for the construction of the new plant was about US $ 70 million.

With the launching of the last 4 MW, has completed the operation of Diego de Almagro. The facility has a total installed capacity of 36 MW and is composed approximately 225,000 modules, most «thin film», from Catania factory of Enel Green Power.
